The Aztec boas are foundetby brothers Bob and Andrew Potts.
The Aztecs themselves are born with a wide range of color but turn very red as adults. All have the same relative pattern.

The Potts bought the founding patriarch, from a school teacher who had a male as a class pet. He was bred to a Colombian boa and proved out to be genetic. Unfortunently the original male died, but the offspring from that first breeding were raised up and bred to several females.

In 2005 the babies where for sale, at Daytona, but none was sold. Later that yea, Celia Chien, from Exotics By Nature, purchased a male.

In 2007 the Potts bred Aztec X Aztec to prove it incomplete dominant with a super form. Up till then it was presumed dominant as they awaited a Super form. This was also the year that Celia produced the first designer Aztec morph with her male and a Hypo female.
The hypo aztec is know as Hytec.
